Mouse Melon, Mouse Watermelon, Mexican Sour Gherkin, Cucamelon or whatever you want to call them.
They are fun and delicious. The flavor is cucumber-like but with a bit of lemon or a tangy sourness. They can be a bit addictive.
These adorable little fruits are not actually cucumbers, nor are they watermelons. But they are easy to grow and very versatile. They can be stir-fried, pickled, eaten fresh, made into salsa, added into salads, or used as cocktail garnishes. The plants are slow to get started, but will eventually produce plenty of tiny fruit. They love to climb, so provide them some trellising.
